HAMMOND, La. — Two individuals were killed Saturday night in a motorcycle crash near West Thomas Street at the Chanell Shopping Center.
Authorities said the motorcycle driver was improperly passing another vehicle when it collided at high speed with a car in the intersection. The impact ejected both riders from the motorcycle.
The driver of the other vehicle was uninjured. According to the police, impairment is not suspected as a contributing factor, but a blood sample will be taken and analyzed at the State Crime Lab as part of the investigation.
The names of the deceased have not yet been released.
