Woman Killed, Driver and Three Children Injured in I-495 Crash in Andover
ANDOVER, MA — A woman was killed, and a driver along with three children were injured in a crash on Interstate 495 late Wednesday night.
According to State Police, troopers responded to an incident involving a vehicle on fire on I-495 North, just before I-93, around 11:30 p.m. On arrival, they found a Chrysler Town & Country carrying two adults and three children, involved in a collision with a Honda Civic.
A 25-year-old woman from Lawrence, a passenger in the Chrysler, was pronounced dead at the scene. The Chrysler's driver was transported to a Boston hospital with serious injuries, while the children were taken to a Boston hospital; their injuries remain undisclosed.
The driver of the Honda was reported uninjured. Authorities stated that the crash is under investigation, and further details will be released as they become available.
