HAMILTON COUNTY, Neb. — A fatal single-vehicle crash occurred on eastbound Interstate 80 at mile marker 336, according to the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office.
Witnesses reported that the vehicle was traveling at a high rate of speed when it lost control and rolled multiple times into the south ditch. The sole occupant of the vehicle was ejected during the crash.
The victim was initially transported to Aurora and later airlifted to Lincoln. Despite medical efforts, the individual did not survive the injuries sustained in the accident.
Authorities are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash. No additional details regarding lane closures or other vehicles involved have been released at this time.
