NORTH CHARLESTON — A motorcyclist was killed in a collision on Dorchester Road on March 2 at approximately 7:45 a.m.
According to North Charleston Police, a westbound heavy-duty pickup truck collided with the motorcycle near Lowell Drive. The scene was classified as “serious,” prompting a temporary closure of Dorchester Road for investigation.
Emergency responders arrived promptly, and the roadway reopened around 9:45 a.m., stated Lt. Anthony King, a police spokesperson. The Charleston County Coroner's Office has not yet released the identity of the deceased motorcyclist.
Authorities confirmed that the pickup truck driver remained at the scene and is not expected to face criminal charges. The investigation is ongoing, with further details pending.
