Lede: A multi-vehicle accident on the I-45 South in Houston left two hospitalized on Friday afternoon.
Authorities reported the incident occurred around 3:15 p.m. involving three vehicles, including a passenger car and two trucks. Emergency services from the Houston Fire Department and Harris County Sheriff's Office responded to the scene.
Witnesses reported that the collision caused significant damage, with debris scattered across all southbound lanes. Two individuals were transported to a local hospital in stable condition. One victim is reported as a 29-year-old male; the age of the other victim is currently unconfirmed.
As a result of the accident, all southbound lanes were temporarily closed for approximately one hour while first responders and tow services worked to clear the area. Traffic was diverted to side streets, leading to considerable delays.
