(WJAR) — A Fall River man was sentenced to two years and six months in prison following a deadly crash on Route 44 in Taunton on September 15, 2024.
Andrew Sousa pleaded guilty to motor vehicle homicide in connection with the incident. According to officials, Sousa was driving eastbound near 608 Winthrop St. when his vehicle rear-ended a tractor-trailer.
Authorities reported that the crash resulted in the death of 24-year-old Mallory Humphreys, who was a passenger in Sousa's vehicle. Emergency responders attended the scene, but Humphreys did not survive her injuries.
The case highlights ongoing concerns about road safety in the area. Further investigations into the crash continue.
