CAPE COD, MA — An 83-year-old man was fatally struck by a pickup truck while bicycling on Monday morning.
The incident occurred at approximately 10:52 a.m. near the intersection of Route 6 and Lieutenant Island Road, according to Wellfleet Police. The victim was transported to Cape Cod Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Authorities reported that the driver of the pickup truck, a 37-year-old man from New Hampshire, remained at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation. The identity of the bicyclist has not yet been released.
Wellfleet Police are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash. No other injuries have been reported.
