DEERING, NH — A 75-year-old woman was killed after being struck by a vehicle that rolled over in her driveway on Friday at approximately 4:37 p.m.
Matilde Mejia was standing at the end of her driveway on Route 149 when a southbound Audi, driven by 35-year-old Henry Proctor of Francestown, crashed off the road and overturned. Mejia was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the Hillsboro Police Department.
Proctor was transported to Concord Hospital with undisclosed injuries. He faces charges of negligent homicide and aggravated DUI.
Authorities reported the vehicle was found severely damaged on its roof in the grass adjacent to the roadway. The incident is under investigation, and police are urging any witnesses or those with surveillance footage to contact them at 603-464-5512.
