Arrest Made in Saturday Crash that Killed 61-Year-Old Man on Highway 101
Authorities have announced the arrest of a suspect involved in a fatal crash on Highway 101 on Saturday afternoon.
At approximately 2:41 p.m. on October 7, Richard Ferguson Jr., 61, was struck by a vehicle while riding his bicycle in the northbound lanes of Highway 101. Witnesses reported that the crash involved two vehicles, including a pickup truck.
Emergency services, including the California Highway Patrol and local paramedics, responded to the scene. Despite immediate medical aid, Ferguson was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the pickup truck was uninjured, according to officials.
The northbound lanes of Highway 101 were closed for several hours as investigators worked to determine the circumstances of the crash. Authorities have confirmed that charges are pending against the driver involved.
