Two Dead in Fatal Crash on Highway 75 Near Riverdale
RIVERDALE, CA — A man and his 11-year-old passenger were pronounced dead at the scene of a crash on Highway 75 on Monday at approximately 2:41 p.m., according to the State Highway Patrol.
The collision involved two vehicles, including a sedan and a pickup truck, heading northbound. Witnesses reported that the sedan collided head-on with the pickup after losing control on the wet roadway.
Emergency responders arrived shortly after the incident and confirmed the fatalities. The victims were identified as a 45-year-old man and his daughter. Two occupants from the pickup sustained injuries and were transported to Riverdale Medical Center for treatment.
Authorities closed two lanes of the northbound highway while they conducted an investigation, which included assessing the crash site and gathering statements from witnesses. Towing services were requested to remove the vehicles.
