COLUMBUS, Ohio — A pedestrian died after a hit-and-run on Cleveland Avenue near Republic Avenue in northeast Columbus at about 9:45 a.m. Saturday.
According to the Columbus Division of Police, an unknown vehicle traveling north on Cleveland Avenue struck the person and left the scene.
Medics transported the victim to a hospital, where the person was pronounced dead, authorities said.
Investigators said the involved vehicle has not been identified, and no suspect description was immediately available.
Anyone who witnessed the crash or has security video is asked to contact Columbus Police. The investigation is ongoing.
