KANSAS CITY, MO. — A pedestrian was struck and killed by a Chevrolet Trax early Friday morning on East Winner Road, according to police.
The incident occurred around 6:15 a.m. near the intersection with North Brighton Avenue. Authorities confirmed the identity of the victim is pending notification of family. The driver remained on the scene and cooperated with investigators.
Emergency response teams, including the Kansas City Police Department and medical personnel, arrived shortly after the incident. The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.
Witnesses reported seeing the pedestrian in the roadway prior to the collision. East Winner Road was closed in both directions for several hours while investigators processed the scene.
