One Dead, Another Injured in Near Head-On Collision in Lima Township
LIMA TOWNSHIP, Wis. (WKOW) — A 56-year-old woman was killed and a 53-year-old man was injured in a near head-on collision on County Highway N near Whitewater Monday morning.
The incident occurred around 8 a.m. when a westbound car crossed into the eastbound lane, colliding with an eastbound SUV, according to Sgt. Clint Rowley with the Rock County Sheriff's Office.
The woman, from Whitewater, was pronounced dead at the scene. The man, a resident of Janesville, was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Authorities confirmed that both drivers were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the crash. The cause of the accident remains under investigation, and no further details have been released.
Emergency responders arrived promptly to manage the scene.
