LARIMER COUNTY, Colo. — A driver was injured Tuesday morning in a six-vehicle crash on Interstate 25 in Fort Collins.
According to the Colorado State Patrol (CSP), the accident occurred when southbound traffic began to slow. A driver in a Toyota Tundra swerved to avoid a rear-end collision, entering the express lane and colliding with a Rivian R1T truck. The impact caused the Rivian to spin out and strike several other vehicles, including a Toyota 4Runner, Nissan Rogue, Chevrolet Colorado, and Toyota Land Cruiser.
The driver of the Nissan Rogue was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries, CSP officials said. The investigation is ongoing, and the cause of the crash remains undetermined.
Emergency responders closed southbound I-25 north of E. Harmony Road while the scene was cleared. The roadway reopened at approximately 9 a.m., after being closed for over an hour.
