Driver Dies in Overnight Crash in Commerce City
A fatal crash involving a pickup truck and a semitrailer occurred at 12:03 a.m. Wednesday on Colorado 2 at East 96th Avenue, authorities reported.
According to the Commerce City Police Department, the pickup truck collided with the rear of the semitrailer, resulting in the driver of the pickup being pronounced dead at the scene. The semitrailer driver was transported to the hospital as a precautionary measure.
Northbound Colorado 2 was closed overnight for cleanup and investigation; however, the lane closure was no longer in effect by 6:30 a.m. Wednesday, as confirmed by COtrip.org.
