WHEAT RIDGE, Colo. — A fatal crash on westbound I-70 at Kipling Street left one person dead and two others injured early Saturday morning.
The single-vehicle accident occurred around 2:41 a.m. Authorities reported that one individual is in serious condition, while the other has non-life-threatening injuries.
Emergency responders from the Wheat Ridge Police Department closed westbound I-70 to one lane between Kipling Street and Wadsworth Boulevard for several hours. The highway was fully reopened by 1:20 p.m. after clearing the scene.
Witnesses reported significant traffic delays as police conducted their investigation into the cause of the crash.
The Wheat Ridge Police Department first alerted the public about the incident via X (formerly Twitter) shortly after 7 a.m., advising drivers to avoid the area during the investigation.
