SAN ANTONIO – A driver died in a fiery crash on the North Side early Tuesday morning.
The incident occurred shortly after 2 a.m. on West Bitters Road near Blanco Road. Authorities reported that the driver of a white SUV was traveling at a high rate of speed when the vehicle hit a curb and then an embankment, launching it into the air.
The SUV crashed through a wooden fence, struck multiple vehicles, and toppled two covered parking structures before rolling onto its side and igniting. The driver was discovered deceased inside the vehicle.
No additional injuries were reported at this time. The SAN ANTONIO POLICE DEPARTMENT has launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash.
