SAN ANTONIO – A fiery crash early Tuesday morning left one driver dead after an SUV went airborne.
The incident occurred shortly after 2 a.m. on West Bitters Road near Blanco Road. According to authorities, the driver of a white SUV was speeding when the vehicle struck a curb and an embankment, causing it to launch into the air.
Upon landing, the SUV crashed through a wooden fence, collided with multiple parked vehicles, and toppled two covered parking structures. The vehicle ultimately rolled onto its side and ignited. First responders found the driver deceased inside the wreckage.
No additional injuries were reported in connection with the incident. Police are actively investigating the circumstances leading to the crash.
