Driver dies after running red light in Columbus crash, police say

A 26-year-old man died after a two- crash at 2:10 a.m. Tuesday, June 9, on Columbus' East Side, authorities said.

The collision occurred at East Livingston Avenue and South Yearling Road and involved two Fusions, according to the Columbus Division of Police.

Investigators said an adult driving a 2020 Fusion left a parking lot at 4069 E. Livingston Ave. and entered the intersection heading north.

Police said Tywan Horton, 26, was eastbound in a 2007 Ford Fusion and failed to stop for a red light, striking the other vehicle's driver-side rear.

Authorities said Horton's vehicle continued northeast, hit a tree, and he was .

Horton was transported to Mount Carmel East Hospital in critical condition and was at 2:49 a.m., police said. No other injuries were reported.
