MEDFORD, Ore. – A vehicle crashed into a power pole early Sunday morning, causing widespread power outages in west Medford.
According to the Medford Police Department, the accident occurred at approximately 2:41 a.m. at the intersection of North Oakdale Avenue and West Main Street. The impact severed the pole and knocked down power lines.
Pacific Power crews responded to restore electricity to the affected area. Although most customers regained power, some are still experiencing outages.
Two passengers sustained injuries in the crash and were transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening conditions. The driver also received medical attention and submitted to a blood draw.
Authorities cited the driver for DUI, assault, reckless driving, reckless endangering, and criminal mischief before releasing them. The vehicle was totaled and subsequently towed from the scene.
