According to the authorities, the incident occurred at approximately 7:15 p.m. on Maple Avenue. Investigators confirmed that Savarino's vehicle collided with another car, resulting in the death of a 34-year-old male driver.
Emergency medical services responded promptly and transported the injured individual to Springfield Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead. Authorities stated that two additional passengers in the second vehicle sustained serious injuries and received treatment at the scene before being taken to the hospital.
The collision involved two cars, and witnesses reported that Savarino was driving at a high rate of speed prior to the crash. Officials indicated that lane closures were implemented for several hours to facilitate the investigation and vehicle removal. The roadway reopened at 11:30 p.m.
