MEDFORD, Ore. – A car crashed into a dental clinic on Murphy Rd. on May 9, resulting in two injuries and an arrest.
According to Medford Police, 43-year-old Phillip John Hill was taken into custody on charges of second-degree assault, DUII of a controlled substance, reckless endangerment, and reckless driving. Hill and a female employee of the clinic were both transported to the hospital; the employee remains hospitalized in stable condition.
Authorities reported that a 2008 Ford F250 truck was driving west on Siskiyou Blvd when it veered through an intersection on Lazy Creek Rd. and collided with the clinic.
Witnesses noted the crash occurred around 2:41 p.m. MPD Sergeant Randy Jewell stated that the department's accident reconstruction team was called to diagram the scene and conduct further investigation, which may lead to criminal charges.
The Jackson County Serious Traffic Accident Reconstruction team will remove the vehicle from the building for mechanical inspection, while Hill will be screened for intoxicants at the hospital.
This case will be prosecuted by the Jackson County Sheriff's Office. Further details will be released as the investigation continues.
