SPRINGFIELD, Tenn. (Local News Wire) — A rollover crash on Kinneys Road near Springfield on Sunday evening resulted in an extended emergency response, but the driver was not seriously injured.
The incident occurred at 7:46 p.m. in the 4400 block of Kinneys Road, near Rawls Auto Salvage. The vehicle veered off the roadway, traveled down an embankment, and rolled onto its side, striking a row of trees.
Due to the crash's severity, LifeFlight was requested and staged at Springfield-Robertson County Airport; however, the air ambulance was canceled after authorities determined it was not needed.
Initial reports indicate the driver escaped with non-life-threatening injuries and was transported by ground ambulance to a nearby hospital. Details about the extent of injuries were not immediately available.
Responding agencies included the Springfield Fire Department, North Robertson Fire & Rescue, Robertson County Emergency Management Agency, Robertson County EMS, and the Tennessee Highway Patrol. The crash was initially reported via an automated cell phone crash-detection alert.
