A two-vehicle crash near Townsend late on Feb. 8 resulted in the death of 69-year-old Laura Thomas, according to Delaware State Police.
Thomas, a passenger in a northbound Toyota Sienna, was preparing to turn left onto Summit Bridge Road when the vehicle collided with a southbound Nissan Altima at approximately 11:40 p.m., authorities said.
She was transported to a local hospital, where she was pronounced dead. The Toyota's driver, a 43-year-old woman from Dover, and three passengers were treated for non-life-threatening injuries at area hospitals. The Nissan driver, a 50-year-old man from Townsend, suffered serious injuries and was also hospitalized.
