RUSTON, La. — A plane crash occurred Tuesday in Ruston, Louisiana, resulting in one fatality, according to KTVE 10.
The Jackson Parish Sheriff's Office responded to the incident in a wooded area near Old Snipe Road after the Monroe Control Tower lost contact with a pilot flying a small aircraft. The pilot, who was the sole occupant, has not yet been identified.
Authorities confirmed the pilot was pronounced dead at the scene. This incident marks the second plane crash reported in Louisiana on Tuesday; a prior crash in Lafayette Parish resulted in three fatalities.
