Covington Man Killed in Bicycle Crash in St. Tammany
A Covington man died in a crash involving a pickup truck and a bicyclist early Sunday morning on LA Hwy 1081.
According to Louisiana State Police, the incident occurred around 12 a.m. as a truck was traveling north on LA Hwy 1081. James Bowie, 33, was riding his bicycle near the dashed line in the same lane when the truck struck him.
Bowie was pronounced dead at the scene. The truck driver reported no injuries.
The investigation is ongoing.
