WESTPORT, Mass. (WJAR) — One person died following a crash on Interstate 195 west in Westport Monday evening.
The Massachusetts Department of Transportation reported that two right lanes were closed during the incident. Massachusetts State Police responded to the scene shortly before 3:30 p.m.
According to authorities, one vehicle was found on the side of the highway, with heavy debris scattered across the roadway. The identity of the deceased has not been released.
Drivers were advised to avoid the area due to lane closures. MassDOT confirmed that the roadway reopened shortly before 10 p.m. The crash is currently under investigation.
