FLOYD COUNTY, Ind. — A deadly crash closed an intersection along U.S. 150 on Saturday afternoon near the Lawrence Banet Road intersection.

Authorities reported that two vehicles were involved in the collision. One driver died at the scene while the other sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital.

Emergency crews expect the roadway to remain closed for several hours as they reconstruct the crash and clean up the area. U.S. 150 was reopened at 3:40 p.m., though some lane restrictions may still be in effect.

Drivers heading toward Greenville are being diverted. Turn restrictions are in place: vehicles on U.S. 150 can turn onto Old Vincennes Road toward Highlander Point and Lawrence Banet Road. However, traffic from Old Vincennes Road must turn right onto U.S. 150, and access to U.S. 150 or Old Vincennes Road from Lawrence Banet Road is currently prohibited.

Floyd County Police are investigating the cause of the accident.
