Deadly Car Hauler Crash Near Wickenburg Shuts Down U.S. 93 for Hours.

YAVAPAI COUNTY, Ariz. – A fatal crash on U.S. 93 on July 6 led to the closure of the highway in both directions.

The collision, which occurred shortly after 7:00 a.m., involved a pickup truck and a hauler approximately 30 miles north of Wickenburg. According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety (DPS), the pickup truck drifted into oncoming traffic, colliding with the car hauler.

Fire engulfed both vehicles following the impact, DPS reported. Both drivers, a 52-year-old man from California and a 56-year-old man from Maricopa, were at the scene.

The southbound lanes were closed at the Interstate 40 junction, while northbound lanes were shut down at State Route 71. All lanes have since reopened.

DPS has not released the identities of the deceased drivers. An investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing.
