CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) — Carolina Panthers quarterback Andy Dalton and his family were involved in a vehicle accident on Tuesday near downtown Charlotte.
According to a Panthers spokesman, Dalton, 36, was evaluated by team medical personnel following the incident on Sardis Road, heading west toward Providence Road. No members of Dalton's family required hospitalization.
The family, including Dalton's wife, three children, and their dog, were in the vehicle during the crash. The team did not confirm whether another vehicle was involved and stated that no additional details were available.
Dalton assumed the Panthers' starting quarterback position in Week 3, replacing Bryce Young. The team currently holds a record of 1-4 in games played since then and is 1-6 overall this season.
