Williamston Man Faces Multiple Charges After Police Chase in Winterville
A 20-year-old man from Williamston is facing several charges following a police pursuit that ended with a crash in Winterville on September 13.
According to warrants, Jallel Kinch fled from Winterville Police while they were conducting a routine check on Reedy Branch Road. Kinch reportedly drove 15 mph over the speed limit and exhibited reckless driving behavior.
After crashing his vehicle, Kinch exited and attempted to flee on foot. Officers reportedly discovered that he had a black Palmetto State Armory handgun in his possession.
Kinch was apprehended and charged with:
- Felony flee/elude arrest with a motor vehicle
- Reckless driving to endanger
- Resisting a public officer
- Carrying a concealed handgun
- Simple possession of a controlled substance
He is currently held at Pitt County Jail with a secured bond set at $30,000. Kinch is scheduled to make his initial court appearance on September 15 at the Pitt County Courthouse.
