Watterson Expressway Crash Claims Life of 48-Year-Old Man
LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A single-vehicle crash on I-264 Sunday afternoon resulted in the death of a 48-year-old man.
Authorities identified the victim as Anwar Watson. The incident occurred around 2:41 p.m. when Watson, driving an SUV westbound on I-264, lost control and collided with another vehicle.
The SUV overturned, ejecting Watson from the vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene. A passenger in the SUV was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Emergency response teams closed the westbound lanes of I-264 for several hours while they managed the incident and conducted an investigation. The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office is leading the investigation into the crash.
