A serious traffic incident in Rockwall County left an eight-year-old boy with significant injuries after he was struck and run over by a vehicle. The accident occurred on the 1000 block of Smith Acres in the city of Fate, approximately 30 minutes northeast of Dallas.
Upon arriving at the scene, deputies from the Rockwall County Sheriff's Office were informed that the child had been hit by his grandfather while in the driveway of their residence. The boy sustained critical injuries to his midsection.
Given the severity of his injuries, a request was made for a Care-Flite helicopter. Fate Fire officials confirmed that the child was airlifted to Children's Medical Center Dallas for further evaluation and medical treatment.
