BOSTON — Two people were rescued from a car after it crashed into a home in Jamaica Plain on Monday afternoon.
According to Boston Police, the vehicle was occupied by two individuals when it collided with the residence at 28 Glen Road. The car became lodged about 10 feet above ground between an elevated parking lot and the house.
Witnesses reported hearing a loud noise at the time of the incident. “I heard a loud bang. I thought it was a construction crew,” said resident Ariel Torres. Another witness, Robert Royals, described the driver's route, stating, “He ran into the parking lot, ripped the fence down, and drove into the lady's house.”
Sky5 footage showed the car wedged between the building and the parking deck, with significant damage to both the vehicle's roof and the home's windows.
Both occupants of the car sustained minor injuries and are in stable condition, while no injuries were reported for residents inside the home. Boston Fire Department confirmed the vehicle was removed shortly after the crash.
Authorities are investigating the incident, noting that speed may be a contributing factor. “We believe the driver's foot got caught on the accelerator,” said Deputy Chief Michael Doherty. Further updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
