CHELMSFORD, Mass. —
One person was hospitalized after a wrong-way crash on Route 3 during the Wednesday evening commute, causing significant traffic delays.
The incident occurred around 4:20 p.m. on the northbound side of Route 3. According to a Massachusetts State Police spokesperson, a vehicle traveling south crossed the median and struck several vehicles in the northbound lanes.
One individual was transported to the hospital with injuries that authorities said are not considered life-threatening. Sky 5 captured images of the scene, which resulted in major traffic backups.
While vehicles were towed, traffic was limited to the left lane on the northbound side. The scene has since been cleared. The incident is still under investigation, and it remains unclear if charges will be filed.
