Capitol Police Chase Ends in Crash; Three Arrested

JACKSON, Miss. — Three individuals are in custody following a Capitol Police chase that ended in a crash on February 26, 2026.

The pursuit began around 8:30 p.m. near John Lynch Street and Arbor Vista Boulevard when officers attempted to pull over a vehicle. According to authorities, the driver refused to stop, leading to a brief chase that concluded with a crash at Grand Avenue and West Capitol Street.

The driver, 26-year-old Destiney Parks, faces charges of felony fleeing. Passenger Keeunna Welch, 31, received charges for disorderly conduct and failure to comply with lawful commands. Jeremy Crump, 35, was taken into custody due to an active warrant from the Ridgeland Police Department.

Details surrounding the initial traffic stop remain unclear. Emergency responders from the Capitol Police handled the incident, and the road remains open following the crash. An investigation is ongoing.
