Investigation Ongoing in 2025 Wellfleet Fatality

Wellfleet, MA—Authorities are seeking information regarding a hit-and-run incident that resulted in the death of a 24-year-old Army veteran on May 25, 2025.

Timothy Duval Jr., of Tallahassee, Florida, was struck while walking along Ocean View Drive near Long Pond Road at approximately 11:37 p.m. Duval had reportedly separated from a group of friends prior to the incident, according to witnesses.

Police responded to reports of a lying in the roadway and found Duval unresponsive. Emergency medical personnel pronounced him dead at the scene. The vehicle involved is believed to be a pickup truck or SUV with front-end damage and is still at large.

The Cape & Islands District Attorney's Office, along with Wellfleet Police, is actively investigating the case. They have brought in a dozen witnesses for testimony before a grand jury and have conducted searches on multiple vehicles through court authorization.

“DA Robert Galibois and Chief Kevin LaRocco are hoping to bring closure to this investigation and provide answers to Timothy Duval Jr.'s family and the community,” stated a representative from their offices.
