MISSOULA, Mont. — Following recent safety concerns, BRP is recalling over 2,800 Can-Am Outlander Pro and Max Pro ATVs due to a malfunction in the speed limiter.
The recall affects vehicles sold at authorized Can-Am dealers from 2023 through this year. According to company officials, a failure in the speed limiter can cause sudden acceleration, leading to a potential loss of control and increased risk of serious injury or death.
One report has been confirmed of an ATV flipping due to this issue, resulting in minor injuries to the rider. Owners are advised to cease use of the speed limiter mode and reach out to a Can-Am dealer for a complimentary software repair.
In a separate recall, Amazon is pulling about 2,900 units of 55-pound adjustable dumbbells from the market. Officials have received reports indicating that weight plates can become loose during use, posing an impact hazard.
Amazon stated that the weights may not securely lock when adjusted, which can lead to the plates detaching from the handle. Although there have been eight reports of the issue, no injuries have been reported. Consumers are urged to stop using the dumbbells immediately and to contact Amazon for a full refund.
