CAMDEN, Ala. (WAKA) – A Camden police officer was killed in an off-duty motorcycle crash on Tuesday night.
Cpl. Michael Andrews, 49, crashed his motorcycle into a ditch in Thomasville, where he resided. Emergency responders arrived shortly after the incident, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Andrews served on the Camden Police Department for approximately five to six years and was known affectionately as “Bone.” The department released a statement recognizing him as a cherished colleague and friend.
Thomasville Police are currently investigating the accident, with further details pending. No other vehicles were involved in the crash.
