Four Hospitalized After Crash Involving Squad Car in Brooklyn Park
BROOKLYN PARK, MN — Four individuals were hospitalized following a collision involving a police squad car on Wednesday at approximately 3:20 p.m.
According to the Brooklyn Park Police Department, the crash occurred at the intersection of 85th Avenue North and Zane Avenue North, as the squad car was responding to an emergency call with lights and siren activated. The Minnesota State Patrol reported that the squad car was traveling west on 85th Avenue when it was struck by a Chevy Equinox heading south on Zane Avenue. The impact caused the squad car to roll over and collide with a Toyota Highlander that was stopped at the intersection.
Authorities confirmed that two occupants of the squad car and two occupants of the Equinox sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were transported to local hospitals.
Video from CHOPPER 5 showed the squad car being towed from the scene. The Minnesota State Patrol is conducting an ongoing investigation into the incident.
