EXETER, N.H. — The boyfriend of a woman killed in a crash on Saturday night was arraigned Monday afternoon.
According to authorities, the incident occurred around 10:30 p.m. on Route 101 when a vehicle driven by 27-year-old Olivia Smith collided head-on with another vehicle. Smith was pronounced dead at the scene.
The boyfriend, identified as 29-year-old Jason Lee, faces charges for obstructing an officer and violating a no-contact order related to a prior incident. Witnesses reported that Lee was seen at the crash site shortly after the collision, attempting to interact with first responders.
Emergency personnel from the EXETER FIRE DEPARTMENT responded to the scene. Paramedics assessed one individual in the other vehicle for minor injuries, but no further medical aid was required.
The New Hampshire State Police is conducting an investigation into the crash. Authorities have not released additional details regarding the circumstances leading to the collision.
Lee was released on bail during the arraignment. Lane closures on Route 101 were in effect for several hours following the accident, causing significant delays.
