Scarborough Crash Claims Life of 36-Year-Old, According to Police.

SCARBOROUGH, ME – A 36-year-old woman was killed in a two-vehicle crash on U.S. Route 1 Tuesday morning.

According to Scarborough Police, first responders were dispatched to the scene at 11:40 a.m. involving a Prius and a . The fire department characterized the incident as a “high mechanism motor vehicle accident.”

Preliminary investigations indicate that Emily Doyon, 36, of Windham, was driving the when she turned left from a business complex parking lot onto Route 1. Her vehicle was struck by a driven by Joshua Bath, 25, of Arundel.

Doyon was transported to Maine Medical Center with life-threatening injuries and later succumbed. Bath was treated at the scene and released. A passenger in Bath's vehicle sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to a local hospital.

U.S. Route 1 was closed between Route 701 and Pleasant Hill Road while authorities conducted an investigation and reconstructed the scene.

The investigation is ongoing, and it remains unclear if any charges will be filed against Bath.
