Bodies of three airmen killed in refueling crash returned to Ohio.

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WSYX) — The remains of three airmen killed in a refueling crash in Iraq were returned to Ohio on Sunday.

Capt. Seth R. Koval, Master Sgt. Tyler H. Simmons, and Capt. Curtis J. Angst were among six service members who died on March 12 when their U.S. Air Force KC-135 refueling aircraft crashed during combat operations.

The remains of one airman were transported from Rickenbacker Air National Guard Base Sunday afternoon to a local funeral home for private family services. The event was closed to the public.

The three airmen were part of the 121st Air Refueling Wing stationed at Rickenbacker and were alongside three members of the 6th Air Refueling Wing from MacDill Air Force Base in Florida who also perished in the incident. Authorities continue to investigate the crash.
