Bicyclist killed in wrong-way crash; driver arrested for DUI.

LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — A fatal crash involving a bicyclist and a motorist is under investigation by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD). The incident occurred around 7 a.m. on Sunday near North Schaumber Road and Grand Teton Drive.

A 2007 Mercedes SL550 was traveling southbound in the northbound lanes when it collided with a bicyclist riding northbound. The bicyclist attempted to evade the vehicle but was struck, suffering fatal injuries.

Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene and performed life-saving measures; however, the bicyclist was at the scene. According to police, the driver of the Mercedes remained on-site and exhibited signs of impairment. He has been arrested on charges of Driving Under the Influence and .

This incident marks the 132nd traffic-related fatality within LVMPD's jurisdiction for 2025. The investigation is ongoing by the LVMPD's Collision Investigation Section.
