A 68-year-old bicyclist sustained critical injuries Tuesday morning on Kapiolani Boulevard following a collision with a car.
According to authorities, the incident occurred around 8:45 a.m. when the vehicle allegedly crossed from the sidewalk into the bike lane. Emergency medical personnel responded quickly, transporting the injured cyclist to a local hospital.
The nature of the cyclist's injuries remains undisclosed. No additional injuries were reported from the vehicle's occupants.
Kapiolani Boulevard was temporarily closed to allow for an investigation and to assist with the removal of the vehicle. The area has since reopened.
