KALA ELOA, HI (Island News) – A 34-year-old man has been charged with multiple offenses following an incident involving police officers on May 19, 2026, at 12:35 p.m.
According to the Honolulu Police Department (HPD), Dane Lemes-Keller faces charges of Criminal Property Damage in the First Degree, Attempted Assault Against a Law Enforcement Officer, Attempted Assault in the Second Degree, Promoting a Dangerous Drug in the Third Degree, Unauthorized Control of a Propelled Vehicle in the First Degree, and Terroristic Threatening in the First Degree.
The charges stem from a police response to Lemes-Keller, who was wanted at the time. Witnesses reported that he allegedly accelerated a vehicle toward officers, prompting them to take evasive action. Lemes-Keller subsequently collided with two police vehicles before being disabled by law enforcement.
Lemes-Keller's bail has been set at $250,000.
Authorities are continuing their investigation into the incident.
