A woman pleaded guilty in connection with a fatal 2022 vehicle collision on Highway 58 and was sentenced to three years in prison.
Amber Gonzalez-Riddle entered the plea deal on February 3 in Lane County. Authorities charged her with first-degree manslaughter, assault, DUII, and reckless endangerment following the head-on crash that resulted in the death of her 5-year-old daughter, Zahava Townsend.
The collision, which occurred near Willamette Pass, also sent multiple occupants of both vehicles to the hospital. Emergency responders assisted at the scene, and subsequent investigations led to the charges against Gonzalez-Riddle. She will face three years of post-prison supervision following her release.
