NORTH CHARLESTON — All eastbound lanes of Interstate 26 reopened at approximately 8 a.m. following a multi-vehicle crash near the Ashley Phosphate Road offramp on July 14.
Authorities reported that the leftmost two lanes were blocked for about an hour due to the presence of a firetruck at the scene. The nature and extent of any injuries remain unconfirmed.
Traffic had backed up for miles leading up to the collision, which occurred near mile marker 209.
Emergency responders were on-site, and traffic began to resume normal flow shortly before 8 a.m. An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
