ST. GEORGE, Utah (TNND) — Tyler Robinson, 22, is accused of assassinating Charlie Kirk on Sept. 10 after a crash and subsequent police interaction in St. George.

Video footage from 2022, obtained by The National News Desk, shows Robinson, then around 19, speaking with officers from the St. George Police Department following the crash. He described the incident and appeared cooperative as his mother provided insurance details.

Robinson's calm demeanor contrasted with family accounts describing him as radicalized, with connections to extreme online communities. Utah Governor Spencer Cox indicated that Robinson had expressed possible involvement in the shooting to a family member.

Authorities reported that Robinson's father identified him from FBI images released during the investigation. Messages shared by Robinson's roommate on the chatting platform Discord mentioned a rifle and ammunition, adding context to the allegations.

After a 33-hour manhunt, Robinson was arrested and faces multiple charges, including aggravated murder and capital obstruction of justice. Utah prosecutors plan to seek the death penalty in this case.
