Lede:
A vehicle crashed through bushes and nearly struck a fast food restaurant in Attleborough, Massachusetts, on Thursday afternoon.
Details:
The incident occurred around 2:00 p.m. on Pleasant Street, according to fire officials.
The driver, a 70-year-old man, was assisted out of the vehicle, while his passenger, a man in his 20s, exited independently. Both individuals were transported to Sturdy Memorial Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
“The outcome could have been much different,” stated Attleborough Fire Lt. Corey Blais. “If this had happened during a busier time of day, it could have been a completely different call. It's very fortunate that no cars or pedestrians were in the parking lot.”
Authorities are investigating the cause of the crash.
